    Surf news through a podcast

    wikriders news — bruno
    November 20, 2006 @ 4:05 pm

Carve, a british surf magazine, has a website full of intersting articles, but it is giving a new dimension to journalism by also proposing its own podcasts. It’s a clever way to subscribe to the latest interviews, stories, news, photos and videos sent by other sufers.

Rip Curl Pro Super Series WQS: Round 2

    wikriders news — leslie
    August 25, 2006 @ 1:57 pm

    It was worth waiting…

After 2 lay-days, the competition went on with some great performances from our favorite champions.

Abdel El Harim won the tricky heat 1 against some experienced surfers. Ben Dunn posted a 8.77 ride and then a 7.17 on his final wave to secure first place in heat 2 with a two-wave combined heat score of 15.94 points.

The action continued to heat up when Heat 3 hit the water as Reunion Island’s Jeremy Flores (FRA) exploded to post the day’s highest heat score (16.50 points). A star is born?

Today, besides the wind, the game is on.

Rip Curl Pro Super Series WQS: Lay day called today because of flat conditions

    wikriders news — leslie
    August 22, 2006 @ 11:27 am

The swell has dropped a lot overnight and after meeting with surfers this morning, contest officials announced that today would be a lay day at the Rip Curl Pro Super Series in Hossegor.

After Big names were eliminated on Day 1, today will provide a relaxing sunny day for surfers and spectators alike.

There is a great swell forecast for later this week, so conditions will improve again quickly.

The remaining five Round 1 heats will be held first, with former World Tour surfer Tom Carroll (USA) competing heat 24.
Round 2 will introduce the contest’s top seeds, including Foster’s ASP World Tour surfers Mick Fanning (AUS), Troy Brooks (AUS), Nathan Hedge (AUS), Chris Ward (USA) and defending champion Adriano de Souza (BRA).

How to use Wikiriders? Upload a picture…

    wikriders news — emmanuel
    July 18, 2006 @ 10:54 am

Wikiriders is a collaborative website, everyone is invited to share information, spot, links… and pictures. It is really easy to do it, just go on a spot page and click on the bouton “add a new photo”.

What is new for a surf website and I think very enjoyable is that all the pictures must be registered under a creative and commons licence. Choose the terms of your licence and let all the people enjoy and share your pictures the way you choose.

Of course if you are the author of one picture uploaded without your authorization, just send us an email by the alert button or at this adress (contact@wikiriders.com). We will take it down as quickly as we can.
